Experienced SEN Caseworkers

Education Advocacy provides legally based advice to parents across England and Wales to progress through the EHCP, or any other education based, appeal.

We now need a SEN Caseworker to work to the MD or Head of Legal to provide effective support to our clients whilst moving through that process.

That will include:

  • Conducting initial case reviews on cases
  • Taking instructions from clients and running the case through the EHCP process on a day-to-day basis from start to finish
  • Providing the emotional support to parents as they are moving through the process.
  • Negotiating with Schools/LAs to achieve the required outcomes.
  • Attending meetings/ annual reviews with LA/Schools
  • Ensure that independent expert reports meet the required standards.
  • Preparing and serving submissions to LAs/Tribunal
  • Bundle preparation
  • Meeting ECHP deadlines
  • Meeting billing expectations
  • Using the CMS to run the cases effectively.

You will need to demonstrate

  • IPSEA training or equivalent
  • 3 years work within the SEN field running a tribunal case load.
  • A detailed understanding of the EHCP process and EQA/Exclusions guidance
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Comittment to support families as they are going through a very tough emotional experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate effective keyboard skills using O365.

Pay and Benefits

  • £28,000-£40,000 (dependant on experience as a fee earner)
  • Full time hours – part time possible
